Why it belongs
Bay View Library is a Milwaukee Public Library branch at 2566 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. that holds weekly story times for young children, and its lobby floor has three mosaic maps of Bay View in 1832, in 1900 and today [1]. Bay View's library began with Beulah Brinton, who in the 1870s gave immigrant workers and children English reading lessons using books from her own collection, and it became Milwaukee Public Library's first branch [2]. The current building opened in October 1993 and replaced the Llewellyn Library, built in 1914 at 907 E. Russell Ave. [1].
